Through my central Eurasia network, I got involved in an exciting business development project.

The Swedish international development organisation Sida is supporting a project where entrepreneurs in Georgia receive technical assistance to better develop their business connections to the European market. As this is the essence of what I like to do with Eastern Ridge, I was quite excited.

The project concerns in-depth consulting to a selection from 300 companies already participating in a 3-year programme funded by the Swedish government,

The in-depth consulting consists of hands-on participation in shaping the business services and communication to a better market fit.

Depending on the companies, these markets can be national or international.

Three important elements for Eastern Ridge

In this project, there are three important elements that follow the approach of Eastern Ridge; first, the companies receive hands-on support to actually create a social and economic bridge between East and West.

Second, the companies have already received initial training, preparing them to solidify the main business model, making the effect of the consultancy work more sustainable.

Third, if successful, an exchange of value flow will start running between East and West, the economic bridge necessary for entrepreneurship as a way of sharing wealth globally.

A new region on the world stage

With the Covid pandemic, we are living through difficult times. But that does not stop global economic activity. Although there is a global decrease in revenue for businesses, there is also an underlying shift of trade noticeable on a global scale.

A time of lower economic activity can also be an opportunity to be noticed as a ‘new’ region on the world stage.

With our attempt to sustain the Eurasian companies further, we know we have to deal with a system that keeps the world’s super-rich in a strong position. From a sustainable perspective, the project team of consultants have an optimistic view of the long term opportunities for connecting companies participating in this project.
